raising kids is hard,
especially when you have to deal with your neighbour’s kid teaching your kid how to be mean to his brother.

Not only did an old guy wearing white shoes try to pick me up, (because he liked the way I was dancing) (lucky me), but I got 2 new clients (lucky me!!).

catching up
i’m doing my best to catch up with everything, but have had only a few minutes to go back in tumble time. I will try again later tonight. I will do my best to leave ultra witty comments to make up for their lateness.

it’s a half marathon (sigh, not the real thing, I chickened out) on Sunday morning.
Amongst the runners is a 100 year old, going for the world record. First 100 year old to finish a marathon. If he can do it, well, I should have tried - shouldn’t I.
Oh, and you all know I’m going to be really disappointed if I have to wait for my medal.
sometimes yoga is better than, like, anything. EVEN chocolate.

I haven’t done anything like this in a long time. It’s big. it’s more than the jittery feeling you get before an important job interview. This feels like final exams in High School.
It started 2 years ago, I worked my way up from nothing with a goal in mind. I trained all summer for this weekend. It’s all over now, there’s really nothing I can do to prepare any more....

by chance, I have gotten into work that I love. I love everything about it, being outdoors, meeting lots of new people, doing work that is appreciated, doing work that I am good at, doing work that does no harm, using my education (kind of), taking something simple to a higher level (at least I aspire to). I love the physical aspects of the job: the air, the smells, feeling strong…...

I got a new client yesterday, I’m pretty darned excited about working on her place. Her garden is an elegant mix of country / wilderness with a bit of city flair. Her garden is structured, unconventional and site specific. And I have free reign now that she can’t keep it up any more; it will be lots of work and lots of fun.
