Not only did an old guy wearing white shoes try to pick me up, (because he liked the way I was dancing) (lucky me), but I got 2 new clients (lucky me!!).

One of them is a run of the mill, “my garden needs help” kind of job, which is great,  but the other one….

Most of the professionally designed gardens around here, are the same: lots and lots of expensive boulders and hardscaping and repetitive drifts of low maintenance yet expensive plants - hydrangeas, day lilies, spireas, karl foerster grass, Japanese maples and the like. Well this acquaintance wants nothing like that, she wants something that the big boys just don’t offer: an English garden. Lots of variety, lots of colour and flowers, hedges, lots of trees and NO boulders. She has seen some of my work and asked me to do a proposal for her. She has a brand new house on a double lot and a budget to match. I am so excited, I’m spending the rest of the evening doing a preliminary proposal. Look out big boys, Maggie’s taking your business.
