  • but for a technicality, I AND my Canadian husband would owe a lifetime of taxes to the US government. I am a Canadian citizen and have not lived in the US since I was 1 year old. This is wrong wrong wrong wrong. Because I never filed US income tax as an adult I would be penalized and owe 50% of my income earned. And my Canadian husband too.

    Can I say it again - this is wrong.
